Like many large organizations, the work of Zonta International is accomplished through the work of several committees. At the 1998 Paris Convention, Zontians' voted to revise their committee structure to include four Technical Committees and four Program Committees.
The Zonta International Technical Committees include

  • Bylaws
  • Finance
  • Convention
  • Nominating
Members of the Nominating Committee are elected during a biennial international convention. Members of the remaining technical committees are appointed by the Zonta International President, with the approval of the ZI Board.

The Zonta International Program Committees are
  • Organization, Membership & Classification (OMC)
  • Status of Women Service (STWS)
  • United Nations (UN)
  • Public Relations & Communications (PR&C)
The chairmen and committee members for the Program Committees are also appointed by the Zonta International President, with the approval of the ZI Board.

Some Program Committees have coordinators which address particular programs within that committee. An example of this type of coordinator is the Young Women in Public Affairs (YWPA) Coordinator. This program is part of the STWS committee and this coordinator assists the STWS Chairman with the facilitation of this program.
